Day 1(about 63KM – 412M Elev.)
We leave by train from Isola Liri to reach Capistrello. Once we have put the bike on the ground, we will begin to discover the impressive Roman hydraulic work about six kilometers long, which originates in the territory of Avezzano and ends in the ancient village of Capistrello. Along the “Liris” river and the railway, we will travel local roads with fascinating natural landscapes until we reach the middle Liri Valley. We will first reach the historic center of Sora, an ancient Volscian city and Roman municipality, where we will visit the thousand-year-old Abbey of San Domenico, built in the area of the birthplace of Marco Tullio Cicerone. After a few more kilometers our stage will end in the medieval village of Isola del Liri with its large waterfall and a visit to the ancient Lefebvre paper mill.

Day 2 (about 66KM – 874M Elev.)
We start from Isola Liri, passing through Cicerone's places along the ancient Via Latina to the villages of Arpino and Santopadre, with incredible views of the Liri Valley and the Melfa gorges. We will arrive in the vast archaeological area of Casinum, through the same secondary and little-traveled roads (Ciclopista della memoria), used during the Second World War for supplies to the Cassino front. An emotional journey between ancient history and more recent episodes that can be best enjoyed only with the slow advance of bike.

Day 3 (about 48KM – 296M DSL)
Pedaling along the war front allows you to experience strong emotions. It means knowing and reliving dramatic episodes of the Second World War, passing through the places where everything took place, in a collective madness that seems to never end. The Bell of Peace, the Military Shrines and the magnificent work of the volunteers of the Gustav Line Museum allow all this. But pedaling towards the sea also means enjoying the almost constant view of the river “Liris” (here Garigliano), traveling with little effort along secondary roads of rare beauty, until reaching the Real Ferdinando bridge and the Minturnae archaeological area.

Day 4 (about 56KM – 470M Elev)
Last day, we leave for the last stretch of the long river, thus reaching the mouth of the Garigliano. Traveling along the delightful Minturno seafront we will arrive in the Gianola regional park, important for its Mediterranean fauna and flora, for its seascapes and much more. We leave immediately towards the town of Formia with an eye always on the Roman Empire, we continue towards the medieval village of Gaeta from where you can admire the entire coast and the Ausoni mountains overlooking the sea. We will continue our excursion through the streets of Gaeta, the Angevin-Aragonese Castle and the paths of the Monte Orlando park and Serapo beach. Before saying goodbye and returning to the Formia-Gaeta station we will pamper ourselves with a tasting of the typical tiella gaetana.

Tour includes 3 nights in 3* hotels and B&Bs formula. All family and locally run. The hotel and B&B rooms have private bathrooms and breakfast is always included to start the day with the right energy. Nigh bike storage is guaranteed by the facilities
